Substitutions and Waivers
Substitution/Waiver requests are used to either substitute or waive a degree requirement. For CHSS students, these requests require the approval of a dean in the Undergraduate Academic Affairs office. The waiver or substitution is reviewed by the college that houses the major or minor.
These requests must be initiated and approved in the Exceptions Workflow in the Stellic Degree Audit by a student's major or minor academic advisor. Once the request has been approved by the department or program, it is submitted to our office for review via the workflow. If the request is approved, the substitution or waiver will appear on the student’s Degree Audit in Stellic.

If substitutions or waivers are denied, students will be notified of the decision.
