The Graduate Academic Affairs team serves current and prospective CHSS students as well as faculty and staff across the College. The office supports inclusive excellence and innovation in graduate education and research training and addresses the academic and professional development needs of graduate certificate, master’s degree, and doctoral students in CHSS. The office supervises graduate curriculum development and academic program reviews for CHSS, develops college-level academic policies, and manages graduate student appeal and grievance processes. It also manages CHSS’s competitive awards for graduate students, processes academic actions, works with faculty to secure external funding, and facilitates professional development opportunities for faculty related to graduate education and mentoring. Below is a brief introduction to our staff.
Marguerite directs the college’s efforts to support enrollment growth and inclusive excellence in graduate education and research training. As graduate academic affairs representative to CHSS curriculum committee and CHSS representative on Graduate Council, she works with program directors on curriculum development, seeks input from CHSS faculty and students on proposed policies and curriculum before Graduate Council, and serves as the college’s point of contact with the provost’s office for graduate program proposal submissions.
Susan manages all academic actions for graduate students in the college, is the non-degree student advisor, and one of the Banner liaisons for CHSS.
Stephanie is the Graduate Admissions Liaison for the college. She manages the college’s graduate application and enrollment process in tandem with the Office of Graduate Admissions.
Clara assists the Graduate Admissions Coordinator with the application process and recruitment of graduate students on behalf of the college’s programs. She attends college fairs and supports applicants, departments, and the university’s office of admissions throughout the admission process.
Cris is the Office Manager for the CHSS Academic Affairs Office. She supports Academic Affairs and CHSS functions, events, special projects, initiatives, budget management, purchasing and reconciling, and hiring. Cris is the scheduling coordinator for the Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Affairs and the Associate Dean for Graduate Academic Affairs.
