Pre-Orientation Advising for New Students
Welcome to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences!
Our academic advisors look forward to supporting you throughout your studies at GMU. During the virtual advising and registration portion of your orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet your major advisor and enroll in your first semester courses. All of our programs are able to provide pre-orientation advising for new transfer students, and some may provide pre-orientation advising for new freshmen.
How to request a pre-orientation advising appointment:
Starting May 1, new students for Fall 2026 may request pre-orientation advising with their major advisor. Please locate your major below to see how you can schedule an appointment.
- Important note, students who receive pre-orientation advising are still required to attend the first 30 minutes of their scheduled virtual session and all of their on-campus session.
