Undergraduate Major Maps

Major Maps for each CHSS undergraduate major help current as well as prospective students plan out their steps to successful completion.

How do I use Major Maps?

The Major Map in your CHSS degree combines 3 aspects of successful degree completion:

Academic Coursework: required and recommended courses; highlighted academic experiences including capstone, Honors in the major, and other specialized coursework and when to optimally take certain classes

Career and Professional Preparation: attending career fairs including those dedicated to the major; internships for credit; using career services at specific times according to degree progress; when to take career prep and mentorship courses in the major and attend career prep and mentorship events

Experiences: recommendations on student organizations, study abroad options, networking suggestions; lectures and seminars being offered; fellowships and scholarships for students in the major

Together, these three elements create an individualized, success plan timed out across the first, middle, and final years of your time at Mason that you can use with your academic advisor.
