Why did you choose George Mason University and your major or area of study?

Among the various colleges I applied to, George Mason University stood out to me for its renowned criminal justice and criminology programs. Fortunately, I was admitted and began my studies in Fall 2022, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminology with a minor in forensic psychology. I have always been interested in criminal justice and helping others, which is why I chose to pursue this field!

Are there faculty or staff members who have made a difference thus far during your George Mason career?

Dr. Melley in the psychology department has made a great impact on my education during my George Mason career. While being a learning assistant for her Introductory Psychology class, I have been able to improve on many useful skills including writing, communication, leadership, and time management.

How do you hope to use your degree and studies in the future?

As a rising junior, I’ve thrived by working closely with dedicated professors and like-minded peers, continually challenging myself to build a better future. After graduation, I aim to join a federal agency where I can apply my knowledge to enhance the criminal justice system and assist those in need.
