Does the SAM form really help to achieve good standing?
Effectiveness of the Student Advising Meeting (SAM) form

This is a comparison between the resulting cumulative GPA and academic standing for undergraduate students with a GPA below 2.0 in CHSS who submitted the SAM form, and students in the same population who did not submit the SAM form.
Total population: 275
Results
- 69% of students who submitted the SAM form saw an increase in their cumulative GPA as compared to only 5% of students who did not submit the SAM form.
- 61% of students who submitted the SAM form achieved good standing as compared to only 2% of students who did not submit the SAM form.
