1. I'm from Jefferson City, Missouri.

2. I chose Mason because when I was 18 I visited George Mason during a ceremony intended to congratulate high-school graduates that had joined the military. I was really impressed by the campus and I remember telling my Dad that I wanted to go here someday. Later when I was in the Army I started to get interested in college and I started looking into programs at universities in the DC area where I wanted to live. I decided way back in 2013 that I would study Russian at George Mason! This has been a long-term goal for me.

3. My major is Russian and Eurasian Studies with a concentration in Russian Language and Culture. I want to someday work in an environment where I can speak Russian daily. I’ve always been interested in foreign languages and I would be very excited to have a job that allows me to interact with foreigners and contribute to greater understanding between people and cultures.

4. I feel most like a Mason student when I log into Blackboard! All jokes aside, I’m very happy to be a Mason student and like I said before it’s been a goal of mine for many years. I’m 26 years old and working on a Bachelor’s degree; but I never feel out of place. I feel very happy to be doing that here and I can’t imagine a better place for me than George Mason.
