Alternate Grading Option

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, Mason has allowed students to choose alternate grading for select semesters. These include spring 2020, fall 2020, and spring 2021.

While students have or had a specific deadline within or after these semesters to choose alternate grading, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences is allowing CHSS students to request that courses be changed to or from alternate grading until the last day of classes of the same semester of the following year. For example, for fall 2020 the last day to request this is the last day of classes in the fall 2021 semester. Please review the official calendars linked on the right to find the deadline for each semester.

These requests can be submitted to us from a student's Mason email address to chssdean@gmu.edu. If a student's GPA is below 2.00, then the student will also need to submit a Student Advising Meeting Form along with the request. This form can be found below, along with a link where a student can find their advisor.
