1. I'm from Hilton Head Island, a small yet popular island off the coast of the bottom of South Carolina. Being from a place with island weather, George Mason's location provides with a much more breathable environment.

2. I chose Mason because I thought that the location being near D.C. with many governmental and international jobs or internships would hold a great potential for me to be opened up to use my knowledge for jobs I will strive for. I aspire to be in intel sourcing, something that is encouraged by Mason's educational opportunities, as well as GMU holding a major for me that I wanted was not available at some of other universities.

3. My major is Foreign Languages with a concentration in French because I want to operate in my job field internationally and be able to not restrict myself to only working in English speaking countries. However, taking George Mason's courses, I also recently opened up my mind to taking a double major with anthropology since I came to love the subject so much while taking the course. Since GMU offers so many different combinations and flexibility for choosing the path that is right for you, the only way that I can limit myself is indecisiveness. I find learning languages to both be a challenge and fun, thus making me capable as well by being a patriot to try to learn more than just two languages.

4. I feel most like a Mason student when I find myself interacting well with others and opening up to connections on campus, even as limited as it may be now due to a pandemic, majority of Mason students get along well with each other and I easily found solidarity among closer friends here. GMU fit exactly what I wanted: somewhere to fit in socially, yet capable of making a name for myself and focusing on academics at the same time. I love finding that my friends and other students are extremely diverse and open in culture, appearance, sexuality, personality, and mental capabilities. And yet, fellow George Mason students are more similar to me than anyone I have known previously.
